Kath Derisson

Founder, Director of Financial Planning

  • Kath’s experience in finance started back in 2005, in the UK. She has worked for some large, multi-national banks, through to boutique financial planning firms.

    Being qualified in both the UK and now the USA, Kath has a unique perspective she uses to provide holistic, unbiased, fee-only advice to her clients. Kath’s clients are from various corners of the USA, and Americans that currently reside in the UK.

    Kath encourages collaboration with other professionals to ensure her clients receive comprehensive planning, and as a fiduciary, her clients are always the priority. Learn more about what fee-only and fiduciary means here.

  • Aside from finance, Kath also co-owns Your Financial Matters, a financial literacy-focused online course company.

    Kath is almost complete with her CFP designation and Enrolled Agent exams and hopes to continue constantly learning each and every year to improve the services her clients receive.

  • Kath holds the following qualifications and certifications:

    BA Hons in English Language and Literature from the University of Wales, Swansea, UK

    UK Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice Qualification from the London Institute of Banking and Finance

    PETR Level 6 Pension Transfer Qualification from the London Institute of Banking and Finance

    Series 7, and Series 66 are both administered by FINRA please review Brokercheck or SEC

Susan Masood

Operations and International Tax

  • Susan is a dedicated finance professional with many years of experience in a variety of functions in the banking and credit union sector. At Fyvie, she is responsible for many financial planning tasks and data entry provided to us by our clients and you may even have a friendly email from her chasing a document or two! Susan will continue to be the primary point of contact in an emergency if Kath is out of the office.

  • Susan lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her ten-year-old son. Her favorite hobbies include encouraging others to be authentic, exercising, and creating new plant-based recipes.

  • Susan started her professional career in the banking industry, predominantly serving credit unions and community banks.

    After 10 years, she has transitioned into social entrepreneurship and community development. She recently shut her local small business to enable her to attend college to further her education but she continues to support her community through philanthropy by sitting on the BOD of Together Inc.

Erica Manoz

Tax, Bookkeeping, & Payroll (USA)

  • Erica is a seasoned tax, data reconciliation, and administration professional. Her focus at Fyvie will be working directly on client accounts for bookkeeping and payroll, whilst being an assisting hand with tax and accounting queries.

  • Erica is a first-generation Mexican-American born to immigrant parents. At an early age, she has used her voice to help those in her community. Over the years, Erica has taken on various titles at prior positions to help employees and customers with a language barrier. When she’s not using her attention to detail and positive energy to help others, you’ll find Erica at home with a book as her husband and kids watch football.

  • Erica has most recently worked at a large local health provider in their billing department alongside a national tax preparation company during tax season.

  • I’Shea Boyd is a financial planning enthusiast with a background in background in data analytics and teaching. A first-generation graduate from the University of Maryland College Park, I’Shea holds a degree in computer engineering. Her professional journey has been marked by a blend of technical expertise and a passion for making a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

    I’Shea brings a unique perspective to the financial sector. Currently pursuing CFP (Certified Financial Planner) certification, she is laying down the foundation to transition into a role as a financial planner. Her vision extends beyond just managing finances; it's about empowering individuals and families to navigate the complexities of financial planning with confidence.

  • To start helping families, I’Shea founded a scholarship awarded annually to seniors from Baltimore City. By promoting and fundraising for this scholarship, she is taking proactive steps towards reducing the burden of student loans. She is committed to building lasting client relationships based on trust, transparency, and a client-centric focus.

Karrissa Jyles

  • Karrissa is the co-founder of Your Financial Matters with Kath and plays a significant role in Fyvie Financial by assisting with larger business projects as an executive assistant. With a career spanning over a decade, Karrissa has become an integral part of ensuring compliance and operational excellence at Fyvie Financial.

  • When she’s not at work, Karrissa serves on the Board of Directors at the POC Collaborative, a nonprofit focused on uplifting resident voices, fostering entrepreneurial innovation, and preserving Nebraska’s cultural heritage. A proud dog mom to a Pitbull/Boxer mix and a bossy Maltipoo, Karrissa loves spending her downtime diving into DIY projects inspired by YouTube tutorials.

Alicia Ireland

(She/Her)

Snr Chartered Accountant (UK)

  • Alicia is a qualified accountant and tax advisor in the UK and has spent over 10 years gaining experience and qualifications working for multiple companies in the UK, including a Big 4 firm. Alicia will be able to help you with any UK/ US double taxation queries along with residency issues that may arise if you are to spend time in both countries.

  • Alicia has always known she wanted to work with numbers; at school Alicia studied Maths and Further Maths and her career in accounting began as soon as she left school! Working across multiple offices in the UK has meant Alicia has gained experience in multiple sectors and knowledge of a vast array of tax topics. Setting up her own business means Alicia has been able to spend more time with her family at home whilst her youngest child is only 2 years old.

  • Alicia’s area of expertise cover the following, but are not limited to: Personal tax, Income Tax Returns, Capital Gains Tax, Self employment, Partnerships, National Insurance, Tax upon investment income, Tax relief upon pension contributions/ gift aid, Tax queries surrounding rental income, Residency and Domicile issues, Double Taxation Agreements, Foreign Tax credit relief. Alicia is AAT Qualified and holds her FMAAT status.

Nadine Dollin

Group Compliance Director

  • Nadine is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in both the UK and US financial sectors. At Fyvie, she plays a pivotal role in setting up and aligning our UK office with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) while ensuring regulatory consistency across US states and preparing for future SEC compliance. She leads the firm’s compliance initiatives, conducting regular checks to maintain adherence to standards and keeping the team updated on any regulatory changes that may impact our services. Nadine is also the primary contact for managing client complaints, helping to uphold Fyvie’s commitment to maintaining the highest compliance standards across both UK and US jurisdictions.

  • When she’s not managing compliance at Fyvie Financial, Nadine Dollin enjoys life in the UK with her partner, Paul, and their kitten, Peanut. A self-professed “Heavy Metal weirdo,” Nadine loves losing herself in the pages of a good fantasy book and is known for getting completely immersed for hours. She’s also an avid football (soccer) fan and has a deep connection with Kath, Fyvie’s founder, as one of her lifelong friends and even one of her bridesmaids.

  • With over nine years of management experience, Nadine brings a wealth of expertise in people skills, motivational coaching, and employee development to Fyvie Financial. She has held various roles in financial sales and operations management, working her way from sales management to overseeing multiple branches in her most recent role. Nadine has honed her skills in leadership and strategic improvement, and her natural energy, self-motivation, and results-driven approach make her highly effective at inspiring teams and driving success through strong leadership and refined processes.

Paraplanner

  • Sam lives in Yorkshire in the UK.

  • Aside from finance, Sam has two dogs recently relocated with her and her husband Chuck to the UK.

  • Sam is currently studying for Series 65 and is part way through her CFP coursework requirements.


Taylor Hineline

Business Development Associate

  • Taylor Hineline is the cornerstone of Fyvie Financial’s business development efforts, managing every aspect of the division with expertise and creativity. She leads social media initiatives to keep clients engaged and informed, designs an inviting and user-friendly website, and is spearheading the development of the firm’s upcoming members-only area, set to launch in late 2024.

    In her role, Taylor wears many hats, showcasing her adaptability and commitment to enhancing client experiences. Despite being new to the finance industry, she has quickly grasped its intricacies and remains passionate about expanding her knowledge to continue driving success at Fyvie Financial.

  • Taylor shares her home with her husband, her brother, and four adorable cats. Outside of work, she enjoys diving into the pages of a good book, unleashing her creativity through crafting, and collecting Starbucks tumblers and Squishmallows.

  • Taylor brings with her a strong background in healthcare, particularly in medical reception and clinical support, where she honed her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. As a side passion project, she leverages this experience, along with her personal journey navigating chronic illness and mental health challenges, to support others as a dedicated patient advocate, spreading knowledge and raising awareness on these important topics. Despite being new to the finance industry, Taylor has quickly adapted to its complexities and developed a genuine passion for learning and excelling in her role.

Desi, Rivers, Murphy, & Mika

The Support Team

  • Kath’s husband Desi, Step-daughter Rivers, pup Mika, and son Murphy, are the four who always provide backup support through being a cheerful face or wet paw on a rainy day or providing comedic value for a funny story Kath can share with clients.

  • Desi creates music in his in-home studio; that’s his true passion whilst managing household tasks, and also completes technical tasks required for the business to sustain itself.

    Rivers is now 12 years old, and enjoys her time at school, but is far more excited to dance and unleash her creative genius!

    Mika who is now 5 believes she is still a young puppy!

    As a family, they love to travel back to the UK each year, have fun, play games, watch movies, and just experience life.
