Our Story
Where we come from shapes how we serve you
Why the name?
At the very heart of our name lies a personal story that means a great deal to our founder, Kath.
Fyvie is a small, picturesque Scottish town she visited often as a child. One side of her family's roots stretch back to the northeast of Scotland, from Fraserburgh up to Shetland, and growing up with that connection taught her something early: there is far more to life than accumulating money. In Fyvie, she found a different kind of wealth, not in possessions, but in deep connections, warmth, and the sense of belonging that only a real home can give you.
As an immigrant and business owner, Kath sees the name through her own particular lens. It carries a duality she has always loved: in its Scottish roots, Fyvie speaks to renewal and new beginnings. In her own story, it reflects what it means to venture into the unknown and build something from the ground up, always searching for home wherever you plant your feet.
The other connection?
Split the name in two and something else emerges.
Fy, an alternate spelling of Fi, financial independence, is a nod to what it really means to own your financial future. The kind of empowerment our clients are actively building for themselves.
Vie, the French word for life, reflects the spirit of living fully and with purpose, a principle that runs through everything we do.
Our firm is more than a business. It's an adventure; one that mirrors the clients we serve, who are building their own paths with clarity and intention. It’s the belief that true wealth is not solely defined by financial means, it resides in the life you build, the risks you take, and the meaningful connections you foster along your path.
